Valerie A. Ross


Of Counsel

Valerie A. Ross serves as Of Counsel to The Starkey Law Group and is a member of Turner Ross Germain, LLC. Valarie has practiced law for over 20 years and is highly experienced in civil litigation matters through a diverse portfolio of clients.


In Valarie’s local government practice, she represents local governments as outside counsel. Her responsibilities include drafting and presenting local acts, ordinances, policies, and procedures; advising and preparing legal opinions for elected and non- elected officials; and assisting in the areas of zoning and land use, sign ordinance enforcement, code enforcement, and community development. Valarie has handled a variety of litigation on behalf of counties and municipalities in the areas of land use and zoning, constitutionality of ordinances, and tax appeals. She has also prosecuted blighted properties under local governments’ nuisance abatement ordinances.


Through Valarie’s private client practice, she also represents a variety of individual and corporate clients in civil litigation matters. Specifically, individuals and homeowner

associations in zoning and land use matters; individuals in personal injury claims,

including automobile accidents, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and slip and fall

accidents. She also engages in appellate advocacy. Valarie’s appellate practice is

founded on the highest standards of written and oral advocacy. She has argued and

won appeals in civil matters in state appellate courts.


Ms. Ross received her B.A. in Communications from Oakwood College, now Oakwood

University, in 1995. Then, in 2001, she received her Juris Doctorate from Texas

Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
