Magua Benson

Partner

Magua Benson is a Partner at The Starkey Law Group and has almost two decades of litigation experience. Magua’s commercial litigation practice includes representing plaintiffs and defendants in breach of contract actions and coin operated amusement machines (COAM) licensees in actions pending before and regulated by the Georgia Lottery Corporation. Magua’s personal injury litigation practice involves the representation of both plaintiffs and defendants in wrongful death and serious injury cases pending before state and federal courts.

When Magua began her legal career, she was a litigation associate at a large, international law firm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania practicing in the areas of mass torts, insurance coverage, and commercial disputes. While there, she represented Fortune 500 companies in diverse, complex litigation in both federal and state courts. She also served as national coordinating counsel for a major manufacturer and, in this role, defended asbestos claims brought by plaintiffs throughout the country and in Canada. Additionally, she represented individual clients in family law, prisoners’ rights, and personal injury actions. When she left Pittsburgh, she joined a personal injury firm, where she represented individuals in wrongful death, mass torts, medical malpractice, and other serious injury cases.

On a personal note, Magua was born in Okinawa, Japan when her father was serving in the Air Force. Throughout her childhood, she lived in three different countries and traveled throughout Asia and Europe. She still enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her family. Her philosophy is to always live intentionally and to always go above and beyond for others, whether it is in her personal life or professional life.
